Born 1970, graduate of the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague. Since 1995, assistant lecturer at the Studio of graphic design and visual communication – Academy of Applied Arts in Prague.
He is the author of graphic layout of the magazine ‘Zlatý řez’ and numerous publications in the field of architecture and art. In 1997 he has founded, together with Petr Babák, the Studio Machek & Babák, dealing mainly with corporate identity (the town of Zlín, Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, Moravian Gallery in Brno, companies Sipral, Tunnel, Konsepti, etc.), exhibition design (Josip Plečnik, Machinists, Ten Centuries of Architecture, F. L. Wright, etc.), and graphic design of books and posters.
He is a several times winner of the competition The Best Czech Book of the Year; in 1991 he was awarded the Herb Lubalin Medal (ITC New York), in 1997 the National Design Award (together with Petr Babák), in 2000 the Alfons Mucha Award, Brno Biennale.
Art director of ‚Deleatur‘ magazine, member of TypoDesignClub Prague, Art Directors Club of the Czech Republic, since 1998 vice-chair of Brno Biennale Organization Committee.
